"Unified" Multidisciplinary Approach to Cloacal Exstrophy

Pediatric surgeon Andrea Bischoff, M.D.; along with pediatric urologist Duncan Wilcox, M.D.; and pediatric gynecologist Veronica Alaniz, M.D.; discuss their multidisciplinary approach to treating cloacal exstrophy. Cloacal exstrophy represents a spectrum of rare anomalies that prevent normal development of a baby's lower abdominal wall. Drs. Bischoff, Wilcox, and Alaniz believe that following a unified management plan from Day 1 of life is necessary to achieve the best possible outcomes for the patient. In this video, they discuss their multidisciplinary approach to treating cloacal exstrophy.
