1. Case Presentation

  • A 4-yr-old girl presents with a 5-day history of fever and worsening neck pain.
  • Your exam shows a left paramedian, tender, erythematous, neck mass.
  • Ultrasound shows “thyroiditis” and a CT scan (below) shows an inflammatory mass with abscess formation emanating from the left thyroid.
