Twists and Turns: Diagnostic Challenges in Adolescent Pelvic Pathology

Two complex pediatric surgical cases were presented by the Montreal Children's Hospital team. The first case involved a 9-year-old girl with a pelvic cyst that was ultimately determined to be an urethral cyst after surgical resection and pathologic examination. The second case presented a 13-year-old girl with acute abdominal pain who was diagnosed with isolated fallopian tube torsion, a rare condition that was successfully treated with a right salpingectomy.
