20-Year-Old Female Patient with History of Surgery for Cloaca and Imperforate Anus (Hendren Patient Case)

Case Overview: 
  • 20-year-old female patient referred in 1987, with a history of surgery for cloaca and imperforate anus
  • Her problems included bowel incontinence and inability to have coitus
Follow Up: 
  • Coitus became possible following the surgery
  • After 1 miscarriage, a second pregnancy went to term and a normal baby girl was delivered by cesarean section
  • Urine control was normal
  • Patient had constipation, but no stool incontinence after surgery
  • At last follow-up, mother was leading normal life
