Patricio Gargollo, M.D.; Walid Farhat, M.D.;  Carlos Villanueva, M.D.; and Benjamin Whittam, M.D.; discussed Complications and How To Avoid Them and How To Manage Those That Occur  in minimally invasive surgery in children. The webinar began with a review of the issues surrounding MIS complications presented by Dr. Farhat. Dr. Villanueva continued with a discussion of general complications, covering access and positioning. The discussion then moved on to unexpected intra-operative complications, such as inadvertent injury and failure to recognize that something is wrong. Procedure-specific complications covered ureteral implant and pyeloplasty. Expert Panelists provided commentary and suggestions for success. 

The live webinar format allowed interactive exchanges between a global virtual audience and the Presenters and Expert Panelists as they addressed fundamentals of basic techniques and basic strategies in managing complications in minimally invasive surgery in pediatrics.
